Ken’s surveying career began early, working alongside his father in Alaska and learning the profession from the ground up. With decades of experience, he has developed expertise across a wide range of survey types, including construction, cadastral, boundary, drone mapping, laser scanning, GPS, and topographic surveys. Surveying isn’t just a profession for Ken—it’s a family legacy, and he brings that deep-rooted passion to every project.
Ken’s father began his own surveying journey in the Pacific Northwest, working for the Bureau of Land Management in Oregon and learning from some of the region’s most respected historical surveyors. He later built a long and successful career in Alaska, where he passed his knowledge and work ethic on to the next generation.
The family’s surveying roots stretch back even further. Ken’s great‑grandfather was a civil engineer who specialized in surveying for bridges and railways, contributing to early infrastructure projects, including work connected to the Great Northern Railway.
Ken’s great‑uncle Clyde was also a civil engineer in the Pacific Northwest, known for his impactful work with Manson Construction. His career included major contributions to the development of the Duwamish Waterway and the design of bridge crossings for the Alyeska Pipeline.
This long, multigenerational history—spanning railroads, public lands, pipelines and rugged Alaskan terrain—shapes the care, accuracy, and pride we bring to our work today.
